Yesterday the Swedish Design Awards took place in Gothenburg and we were proud to have several nominations. A great evening filled with fantastic designs that ended in the best way possible – wins for us. Gold for HOBO (Graphic Identity), 3rd for the playful LIP (Graphic Design) and our friends at Vain (Identity Product Design).
A golden way to start the weekend!
Good design and strong brand building are often the direct result of a simple collaboration between an agency that dares to challenge and a client that dares to accept and encourage that challenge. But, whilst the agency basks in glory the client is often forgotten. It’s for these clients that Komm is introducing Årets designköpare – a celebration of, and salute to, their bravery and progressive thinking. A great initiative that we at Identity Works will all be supporting. And none more so than our very own CEO Bjarne Otterdahl who will also be amongst this years judges!
If we were pretty impressed with ourselves for receiving 5 designpriset nominations last year, imagine our amazement at being nominated 8 times this year! Let’s just say we’re happy. In fact the only thing that could possibly make us even happier would be to win all EIGHT.
So, if you feel like making us very, very happy be sure to vote for all of our nominations at www.designpriset.se
And our nominations are… (insert drum roll)
HOBO – Grafisk identitet

We´re growing. And we´re looking for a new family member, this time a Client Director. Sound interesting? Read more here.
A big thank you to everyone involved in making Human World a success! We’re proud to have brought together Jenn Maer (IDEO), Kaj Drobin (Tictail), Julien Mauroy (KTH/SSES) and an amazing audience of creative thinkers and brands to learn, ponder and discuss human-centered design.
We’ve been working diligently the past few months to plan the event, and it was fantastic to see so many inspired and curious people under one roof. Everyone’s involvement and presence helped to make this event a success. We hope that all will have continued interest and engagement in human-centered design. As Jenn Maer put it, “the world needs more of it!”
Photos, interviews and poll results from the event will be posted on humanworld.se in a few short weeks. We look forward to our next event in the near future. Watch this space.
After several months of hush, hush work we’re very excited to introduce Little Farmer – our latest creations for a completely new range of locally produced and organic baby foods from Lantmännen. Good news for us, even better news for hungry little tummies.
We are humble and grateful. Thrilled to be working with such lovely clients and talented people. Yesterday, just like last year, we won second prize in Årets Byrå (Branding & Design agencies, 25+ mkr). And you know what they say about us seconds. We try harder.
We’re looking for a copywriting creative to join us on part-time basis. Someone that’s equally as adept in English as they are in Swedish. A somebody that thinks beyond just filling the ‘insert words here’ box. Let’s just say we’re looking for a good storyteller, with big ideas, that likes words. In return we offer the opportunity to work on a diverse array of projects – from product naming to brand stories including everything in-between and beyond.
Sound interesting? Contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Here at IW our search for people is continuous. In particular we’re always on the lookout for the next generation of talents. Those fresh-faced, enthusiastic and eager to learn types with endless energy. The sort of people that as creatives don’t mind helping out wherever it’s needed, or as project managers are happy to help relieve some of the daily burdens. Right now we could see two such people joining us on a longer-term project basis.
Interested? Contact email@example.com
Congratulations to our very own Helena who will take her seat on this years Guldägget design jury as our third representative in as many years. Yay Helena, yay us!
Only January 12th and already official nominees for this years Årets Byrå (branding & design). Fingers crossed for February.
2017 looks like being another great year.
We’re looking for another new family member. This time someone to help us out on a part-time basis, answering the phone and opening the door, from 15.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday. Fun, friendly and pro-active, this person is most likely currently studying a design discipline and wants to get a little first-hand experience for how a design company works. More than just a part-time job we propose an opportunity for a curious-minded soul to ask questions, poke around and make some new friends. Interested? Send a short note about yourself to firstname.lastname@example.org
We’re getting even busier and that means we need to expand our family a little more. This time we need creatives. Two talented graphic designers to be precious, one with a year or two’s experience, the other with more. Aside from this, we like our creatives to be broadly skilled – as comfortable designing packaging as they are working with identities, as at home in printed media as they are in digital. That’s true believers in strategic thinking with the ability to craft sharp ideas into beautifully executed solutions. Sound like you? Great. Send work examples to email@example.com
Nurturing the next generation of creative talents is important to us. That’s why, beginning this January, we’re starting Look Club. A bit like a book club, but without the epic Tolstoy debate, our Look Club is a humble invitation for young creatives to drop by and discuss their work. With some of our brightest talents on-hand to give their thoughts, the format is simple – you bring your portfolio, we’ll take a look.
Thursday January 26th
16.30 – 19.00
RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
We’re looking to grow our IW family and need a Junior Strategist. Ideally with a couple of years industry experience, we see this person as a well organised and driven problem solver. As a Strategist for us, you’ll find yourself tasked with a broad range of tasks, from trend and feasibility studies to portfolio strategy and positioning. You’ll also work alongside our senior strategists, supporting on our larger projects. Comfortable analysing data, a relentless researcher and a dab-hand at keynote presentations – we see a curious minded team player with an eye for design and proactive attitude. In return, we’ll provide a loving home filled with a diverse mix of like-minded new friends.
Sound interesting? Send your CV and a short introduction to email@example.com Be bold, mark it ‘STAR STRATEGIST’ so we know who you are.
It’s always nice to be acknowledged for a fine piece of design, but it’s even better when the design is awarded for its actual effectiveness. That’s why we’re extra proud that our work for Risenta has scooped this years 75-Wattaren Strategic Design award. Yay us and big thanks to the Risenta buying public.
We’re super excited over our two nominations for this year’s 100-wattaren. Our work for OLW and Risenta are both nominated in the Consumer – Strategic design category. Which means we’ll be competing against ourselves. Anyway, we think both entries are great examples of design creating actual business results. Let the best entry win!
Take four of Stockholm’s biggest arenas and unite them together. Introducing Stockholm Live – home of live entertainment, and our latest identity/naming project.
Yay us for scooping a Silver at this years Pentawards. With an extra special IW round of applause for everyone involved, and to Vain STHLM for being one of our favourite clients.
Now, excuse us whilst we go celebrate!
It’s always nice to be nominated for an award or two, so imagine our amazement at being nominated five times in this years designpriset. let’s just say we’re happy. In fact the only thing that could possibly make us even happier would be to win all five.
So, if you feel like making us very, very happy be sure to vote for all of our nominations at www.designpriset.se
Blodcentralen (graphic ID)
Bujjo, Spisa and Vain (packaging)
Identity W rks. fficial supp rters f ‘Missing type’.
And to prove our support we’ll all obviously be queuing up at our local Blodcentralen to give as much blood as humanly possible.
Hot off of the back of this years Guldägget jury, our very own Cecilia Lindgren will also be casting her beady-eyes over this years 100-wattaren entries. You’ll find her on the international jury. She’ll be the ruthless looking one!
Congratulations to all that worked with Vain Sound. Official nominee in this years Pentawards. Beautiful music to our ears.
Contrary to misconception Stockholm Open is more than Stockholm’s premier tennis event. It’s actually a racket-free youth initiative for Stockholm teenagers to get involved in the communication business. One that allows agencies to play an active role in helping shape the future talents of the industry. And as an official host agency we’ll be welcoming, guiding and hopefully inspiring a team from Enskede-Årsta-Vantör as they endeavour to solve their challenge.
Picture the scene. Sunbaked beaches, crystal blue waters lapping at the shore, luxury yachts, glamour and glitterati. It could only be the French Riviera. Exactly where our very own Candice Madrid-Dahlqvist will be spending the next 10 days locked in a darkened room, looking through thousands of entries alongside the rest of the judges for this years Cannes jury. The very best of luck Candice. And remember – greatness is its own reward!
Mission Status: Success.
Art genuinely made by Space.
Congratulations Hannes and Ivo.
The worlds first curators of space art.
The rocket is fuelled.
The canvas is set.
And fingers are crossed.
Weather permitting, this Saturday we will bring answers to the big question – can space make art?
Follow all the progress here.
We’re looking for a new production designer. Someone more than just a traditional art worker. Someone with solid packaging design experience, art working knowledge and the maturity to run independently. With a strong graphic design portfolio we see this someone as our line extension specialist. Able to interpret any brief. Obsessive about detail. Geek-ish for the craft. A true system lover. As an integral part of the IW production team this someone will become our unsung hero.
Sound like you?
Then, we’d love to meet.
As a creative agency we’re approached by all sorts of students. Some seeking internships. Some seeking that illusive first job. Of these most come brandishing a portfolio of work that’s highly finished, slickly polished and available online. The proof that they can do what we do. So, imagine our surprise when two Forsbergs students turned up proposing a mission into space. That’s right, space. They quite literally wanted to launch a self-devised vessel into orbit. Its mission: an experiment to create a piece of art. To them an explorative project. To us a breath of fresh air. No polished packaging design, no book projects, no case films, just a blissful moment of creative madness. That’s a step into the creative unknown. The type of behaviour that should actively be encouraged. And that’s exactly why we’re embracing, nurturing and supporting it.
Project title: ART BY SPACE.
More: VERY SOON.
During the past months we’ve been busy. Too busy. And we’re getting busier. This all means it’s time to add a new face to our family.
Someone with talent. Someone with a lot to say for themselves.
More specifically, we see this someone as:
4 – 5 years experience.
Comfortable with visual identities.
Ambitious in their ideas.
Proactive when driving projects.
Perfect for a special someone eager to develop, grow, broaden, hone and tone their skills.
Even more perfect for someone with digital literacy.
Why not send us a little taster of your work.
Here at Identity Works we’ve always taken pleasure in a nice, cold beer. And now, we’ve got even more reason to enjoy it. Congratulations to Åbro Bron – official nominee for this years Guldägget design awards. We’ve put an extra case on ice. And if it wins, you’re all invited over.
Hobo. A new concept hotel from Nordic Choice. Or more importantly, our latest brand identity launch. Less nomadic vagabond. More a unique home for inspired urban travellers. We can’t show you much for now, but more is on its way. In the meantime read more about it on DN.
Last night White Guide and The Swedish Food Federation announced this year’s winner of prestigious taste developer award: our friends and clients Scandinavian Organics!
”After their pioneering work with organic poultry, Scandinavian Organics have expanded to vegetables and beef and from flavouring to drink-and-eat-ready: grab & enjoy. Sustainable all the way”.
We couldn’t agree more. Congrats, Scandinavian Organics! Now let’s celebrate. Bujjo, anyone?
Hard work pays off. Yesterday night we came second in Agency of the year, branding and design category (25+ MKR).
A big and humble thank you to all our clients and partners. It’s a privilege to work with you. Let’s keep up the good work – in fact, let’s do even better and next time we’ll reach that gold medal.
We certainly hope so. And we’re about to find out. The event Årets Byrå (Agency of the year) takes place on February 11th and we’ve been nominated in the branding and design category.
Fingers crossed for us!
Good news! Our senior creative Cecilia Lindgren is part of this year’s Guldägget jury. Two categories will be graced by her presence – corporate identity and packaging design. The rest of us say hooray and good luck finding out which glittering eggs are actually golden.
Or should that be: welcome to Uppsala, Identity Works? Anyhow, we’ve just started working with the Uppsala place brand. And we’re as thrilled as Pelle Svanslös when he met Maja Gräddnos.
The world is an amazing place. Mostly it’s amazing for all the right reasons. Sadly, last week we were amazed at the suffering currently being endured by the people of Syria.
To aid a little we’ve donated money and mobile phones to those organisations best placed to help.
We’d like to urge all our clients, industry colleagues and friends to do what they can. A little can go a long way. And together we could just make the world amazing for right reasons again.
Welcome to our very latest friends Nordic choice. They’ve been kind enough to choose us as their partner for not one but two brand new hotel identities. Personally we think it’s a great choice!
This summer crack open a chilled can of our latest design for Åbro.
Featuring tales of submarines, octopus, fish-men and more from underneath the ‘Bron’ (that’s bridge), we hope you enjoy the packaging as much as its contents.
This year marks 100 years since Sweden’s dairy farmers joined forces to form the milk producing cooperative we all love – Arla.
In celebration we’ve created a special edition logo to honour the occasion.
It’s on pack now so join us in raising a glass of the cold, fresh stuff.
Milk moustaches all around!
Our latest pack design for Arla Quark has been such a success that we think it deserves it’s own special word. Introducing QUARKING. (qu-ar-king) A roaring or comprehensive success.
Good things come in threes. That’s one big hurrah for each of our new friends. Welcome to Santa Maria, Rusta and Länsförsäkringar.
We’re happy to announce that our design director Candice Madrid-Dahlqvist is part of this year’s Guldägget design jury. Now we can finally get to the bottom of that eternal question!
Welcome Vain Sound. New clients in need of retuning. Brand platform, identity and packaging design coming soon.
Hoorah, hoorah, pepparkaka. Congratulations to everyone who worked on this years award winning Ballerina Pepparkaka pack design. Our good friends at Göteborgs Kex asked for impact. We think they got it.
Congratulations to our very own Karin af Malmborg. Selected as one of this years Eurobest judges. Feel free to send her your regards.
She’s taking lunches (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) now!
Identity Works has developed a new brand world for Arla and our work is now being implemented across the world.
Identity Works has developed a brand and a packaging design concept for our beloved partner Primus. Products are now in store so no more excuses to stay inside.
We have been working for inkClub for over a year now creating their new brand strategy and visual identity. We spent a lot of time together developing the new inkClub website, which now is a one-stop-shop for all the expendables that you’ll ever need. Why spend your valuable time shopping toilet paper and light bulbs in store when you are just one click away from inkClub.com? See you there!
We are truly happy to announce that the 180 days project took home several prices in the American Advertising Awards. As a plus our portuguese colleague Nuno learned how to speak swedish!
Brand new Cookies for your fika in store now!
Based on the original 1913 designs by marine painter Jacob Hägg, our newly cleaned and functional logo will be implemented this spring with web, route maps, schedules, signage, boats and more to follow soon.
This fall we’re delighted to welcome Emma S. skincare as a new client. We look forward to sharing some work with you very soon.
Congratulations Alexandra. Judge, jury (and executioner) for this years Resumés Månadens Design.
